Dear Friends and Neighbors,
My name is Michele Clark, and I’m proud to call the northwest suburbs of Chicago my lifelong home. I grew up in Kildeer and now live in Algonquin with my husband Daryl, a commercial airline pilot. Together, we’ve raised two incredible daughters, Grace and Camryn, who are now pursuing their passions in college—one studying Aerospace Engineering and the other Political Science.
My deep commitment to faith, family, and country was shaped early on by the example set by my parents. They both grew up on farms in northern Wisconsin with very little money, and moved to Northern Illinois seeking a better future. My dad, a Marine veteran and former military police officer, learned the construction trade and eventually built a successful small business—Paradise Swimming Pools—right out of our home, with my mom managing the office. Their hard work and grit taught me the value of perseverance, sacrifice, and service.
As a former small business owner myself, I understand how strong communities are built—by everyday people who work hard, care deeply, and want nothing more than safe neighborhoods, strong schools, and the chance to provide a better life for their families. These are the people I’ve stood with my whole life—and the people I want to represent.
I’m an active member of First Congregational Church of Dundee, but I was raised in a conservative Lutheran church where women couldn’t vote or hold office. My mother challenged that tradition and insisted my siblings and I go to college—making us the first in our family to do so. Her courage and advocacy inspired me to be a strong voice for women’s rights and equal opportunity.
Professionally, I’ve worn many hats. I started in sales and later became the proud owner of a large early childhood learning center, which I built and ran while raising our children. After selling the school, I served as Chief Operating Officer of the Boys and Girls Club of Dundee Township during the COVID-19 pandemic—overseeing a multimillion-dollar budget and leading our staff through one of the most difficult times for families and kids in our community.
Today, I serve as the Director of Development for the D300 Food Pantry, where I work to ensure that no child in our district goes hungry. It’s a role that combines my nonprofit experience, business background, and passion for service—all in support of the next generation.
In my free time, I continue to support causes I care about by consulting with women-owned small businesses and nonprofits. I’m a proud board member of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, and when I’m not working, you can often find me on the tennis courts at the Crystal Lake Racket Club. Now that Daryl and I are recent empty nesters, we’re looking forward to traveling and experiencing more of the world together.
As I look ahead to what’s next, I want you to know that I’m not here to play politics—I’m here to serve. I believe in responsible leadership, honest conversations, and practical solutions. Most of all, I believe in the strength of our communities—and the incredible people who call this place home.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I look forward to earning your trust, your support, and most importantly—your partnership in building a brighter future.
With gratitude,
Michele
